Junior News: Tipselit shine in second half to beat Boo FF
After a disappointing opening 45 minutes, which saw the home side lack quality and cohesion in their passing game, head coach Tommy (1 touch) Krantz rang the changes at half-time and it paid dividends. Looking jaded and sluggish after the tuff 2-2 midweek draw against Långholmen FC, we never really found our rhythm in the first half, despite making a bright start in the first quarter.
Boo managed to control most of the first half and looked dangerous when attacking down the left channel, but decent defending by Arman and Michel kept the away side at bay. A well executed and neatly placed free-kick from about 7 meters outside the box by Milan, gave us a 1-0 lead but that was smudged out 10 minutes later as Boo pounced on a defensive error inside our box after a corner hadn´t been cleared. So honours were even after the first-half. Andrew Sumba was outstanding defensively in the first half for the visitors, looking solid and composed.
At the start of the second-half Freddie came on up front and his impact was immediate, continually posing a danger with his determination and speed. The team elevated themselves and stepped up a few gears and began to dominate the game as Boo struggled to keep up with the sheer pace and tempo set by their younger counter-parts. It was only a matter of time before the goals flowed, as Assyriska created and manufactured a host of chances, as the team found their neat and tidy passing game once again. Jeniay was key and played a pivotal role with his continual defense splitting passes, feeding striking trio,Cesar, Freddie and Johan who all looked vibrant up front.; it was his vision that set Cesar on his way after a deep run, that gave us a 2-1 lead which Freddie made 3-1, this time Cesar the provider with Freddie finishing composedly. Boo struggled as we run rampant and pinned them back in their own half for much of the second-half.
Boo coach Stefan Jansson: “We played well offensively in the first half but in the second we were a little passive and made to many errors of judgement. We found it hard to keep up the the pace of the game and looked tired at the end, which was disappointing.”
Reflecting on their visit to Södertälje Fotbolls Arena, Jansson added:”After forgetting to pack our kit it wasn´t the best start to the day, but Asssyriska were first class and helped us out and we were very impressed with the set-up and kind hospitality we were showed.”
First and foremost Adrian and Tommy were pleased with the response of the players overall. A solid platform has been installed and we are beginning to reap the benefits with the squad gelling together with every game, ahead of the AIK league fixture in 14 days.
Head coach Tommy Krantz:”Our passing game was very pleasing in the second half. In the first half it looked like the ball was a dice! Our passages of play and running was more intelligent and filled with quality. The substitutes made a big difference and set a much better pace to the game”
A reflection shared by team Captain Milan Ratkelic: “The first half was disappointing after a good opening 15 minutes and we played well but in dribs and drabs. We lost our way after that. But in the second half we were completely ok. We got a lot more out of the game and looked more consequent and effective up front.”
Milan is performing well in his new role for the upcoming season as a defensive midfielder, but insists that there is room for improvement: ”I am adjusting to playing in the role and am enjoying it. As a team we have to be much better in the last third, more effective when the season starts.”
Overall the game was deservedly won by the home team who are now rapidly improving with every game, as competition for places in the starting eleven hottens-up. Michel , who adds quality and class to the team, and Cevdet, looked very composed at the heart of the defense. Addis impressed at left-back, as Arman did on the right side. Jeniay played to his usual high standard and Vlado looked full of running once again, posing a danger with his physical presence. In the absence of Anton, Keeper Karam, played well again and is finding a good vein of form. With the season looming closer, it will be difficult selecting the staring eleven with players now showing they are ready for the challenge and competition.
A view echoed by team manager Nursen Besara: “ We have a host of fine young players and have demonstrated that we are a good team when we want to be.”
The unbeaten run continues as we now prepare for the visit of Värtans IK on Wednesday at home, kick off 20:15. The following week we play in our last pre-season fixture at home again to Spånga IS at the same time.
